Effective date: 2025‑01‑01
This Privacy Policy describes how the Google Drive Image Compressor (the “App”) handles data when you use it. The App runs entirely in your browser. We do not run any backend service that receives or stores your files.
Information We Access
- Google account basic profile as required by Google OAuth to obtain an access token.
- Google Drive file metadata (name, MIME type, size, image dimensions) to list items you choose to process.
- Google Drive file content for the specific files you choose to compress. File data is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to our servers.
How We Use Information
- Compress images client‑side in your browser using Web APIs.
- Optionally upload the compressed versions to a Google Drive folder you select, or replace the original file if you explicitly choose that action.
- No analytics or tracking is performed by the App.
Data Storage and Retention
- No copies of your files are stored by us. All processing happens locally in your browser memory.
- The App may store the Google OAuth access token in your browser’s localStorage to keep you signed in. You can sign out in the App or revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your files or metadata with any third parties. The App only communicates with Google APIs to access your Drive as authorized by you.
Your Choices
- Sign out within the App to clear the stored token.
- Revoke access via Google Account > Security > Third‑party access.
- Delete any output files or folders created by the App in your Google Drive.
Google API Services
The App’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
